18 months after perseus traxx brought flight recorder his first e.p, dedicated to four of the nine muses of ancient greece, the label now ushers in the second instalment dedicated to four more muses, on goddesses of inspiration ii. the feel is the same as before with jagged cutting tones jammed live then edited down. heavy synths and scattered drums perform an ode characterising the appropriate muses, as tangled wires and a pair of hands wrench the overload of inspiration they give from basic machines. once again perseus release on flight recorder is a unique set of acid-free sonic experiments, that sometimes feel as cold and edgy, as they do warm and carefree.

a recontextualized hybridization of that which is familiar to create the foreign. using classic chicago, detroit and new york as a reference, i sought to explore new sonic possibilities while limiting myself to the classic machines and sounds of the era that inspired me to dedicate my life to this art-form.

we re proud to announce our second 12- single in 2015 which features never-before-heard (on any medium) rare live performances from cv313. the first track is a rare reversion of the classic -dimensional- piece released back in 2007 (echospace 002), recorded live in tokyo at club air. for the b side we ve done our best to restore one of our favourite live moments captured at arma17 in moscow, russia, a deeply moving affair somewhere between the clouds above and the water below, spaced out sonic submersion...

title track joyride kicks things off with a straight up 909 beat, complete with scifi sweeps and classic wood block percussion, quickly working its way into an very subtle groove with every element working effectively to keep it fully funk laden. sideways completes the a side of the release and gets going right from the beginning. pumping percussion takes hold and hits the ground running before a perfectly weighted synth hook lashes over the top with henning playing with the synths lfo to creative effect. dust takes things down a notch as swirling pads drape themselves over a serious 909 beat. henning lets this one loop out, letting the subtle variations in the synths do the work as the 909 holds the beat solid and reminiscent of early berlin/detroit dub techno crossovers. mars attacks closes of the ep and does so in particularly fine fashion. a more broken beat affair this time from henning and he really works his machines into a sonic warfare of bass tones and tweaked out synths that sear through the crashing percussion workout.
